Functions:
The surge arrester is composed of a semiconductor valve element (varistor) which opens under certain conditions.
In standard conditions, the surge arrester has an infinite impedance between the protected conductors and the earth.
In case of overvoltage (lightning or failure in the system), the varistor opens and conducts the overvoltage towards the earth circuit.
After the reinstatement of the normal voltage, the varistor closes.
Technical characteristics:
* Nominal discharge current (In): peak value of the discharge current that can be diverted several times to the earth.
* Maximum discharge current (Imax): maximum value of discharge current that the arrester is able to handle once.
* Nominal operating voltage (Uc):
- voltage feedback of the surge arrester: 275/440V; 50Hz
* Pulse voltage Up: the voltage created on the surge arrester terminals when a rated discharge current circulates.
* Working constant current: up to 800µA for the 1p, 2p, 3p ; up to 600µA for the 1p+N, 3p+N.
* Indicator when it necessitates to change the arrester.
Mounting:
- DIN rail fixing.
- vertical position.
- to mount at the input of the electric panel.
- rigid or flexible connectors with the corresponding section.
