What is a three-phase variable frequency drive?
A three-phase variable frequency drive varies the speed of a three-phase induction electric motor, by varying the supply frequency (between 0 and 50Hz).
The three-phase variable frequency drive enables to:
- vary the speed of an induction motor, by varying the frequency.
- start and brake progressively (by varying the acceleration and deceleration times). It is recommended when using reducers because it limits mechanical fits and starts.
