Electrical sockets and plugs

Electrical sockets and plugs are mounting electric connectors male or female. They can either be built-in or mounted especially on DIN rail or on cable. Our range is Hypra-type, which is a standard in the industrial field.

You can find in our range electrical sockets and plugs in single-phase or three-phase, an adapter for changing the shape of a socket (it plugs on a 220V current network and on output), bases for electric sockets or even a distribution board with the possibility to put 3 mounting sockets or 6 modules.

Items sold by EASI-Spare are specially developed for electrical industrial distribution applications, inside or outside. In fact, they have an IP (ingress protection code) IP44, IP67, which makes them resistant to mechanical shocks, drops of water as well as dust. Some electrical plugs and sockets can operate with a maximum temperature of 80 degrees.

The difference between an electrical plug and an electrical socket

A female electrical socket distributes the electrical current. It can be a base or a prewired socket. It connects to a male plug that corresponds perfectly. On a female socket, contacts are placed on the back of the socket, inaccessible on the front (without any pin protruding).

A male electrical plug is an electrical connector to put in a female socket to which it is associated (base or prewired socket). Male plugs have pins that are put in the hole of the female socket. There is a phase, a neutral and sometimes an earth pin.

Characteristics of electrical plugs and sockets

The electrical voltage of plugs and sockets is standardised:

  • purple: 24 VAC
  • blue: 220 VAC
  • red: 400 VAC

The intensity of the socket is the maximum electric intensity that can be transmitted via the pins plug (in Amperes).

The number of poles: single-phase (phase + neutral + earth), 3 poles + earth, Four-pole 3 poles + neutral + earth.

The ingress protection of the socket: IP44 or IP67.
